It's that time of the year again!
So, it's back to the old rut. The end of another week. A rather explosive' week, I might add.
But I'm really looking forward to next week. It's Budget Day this Thursday. My favourite day of the year(not including Saturdays and Sundays). Budget day is often punctuated by hilarious speeches, not-so-politically-correct statements and thoroughly screwed-up economic repercussions. But the mathematics behind the budget has to be the most fascinating aspect. To see figures to the tune of millions and trillions(or 'karods' in India) being thrown around so casually, is really, really amusing. It's just like a certain Mr. George W Bush once said--"It's clearly a budget. It's got a lot of numbers in it."
To keep myself from losing my sanity in anticipation of said budget, I've gone back to my random musings. So, here we go.
Firstly, the seating near the hub has been given a facelift. And it looked pretty decent, until some wiseguy(the only politically correct alternative for a host of other words I could think of) decided to paint it red and white. Now you can't sit there for more than 10 seconds without squinting like a 'kaanya'.
It looks like the first class waiting area, dammit! Don't be surprised to see a train coming in.
And have I been seeing fresh paint on the walls of the mech building?Or have I been hallucinating?
Because it looks like all our funding is being put to use, in the spirit of budget day.
Speaking of seasons, it seems that summer is finally upon us. Sweaty days, kokam sharbat and insatiable thirst, here we come.
Oh, and the fruit custard in the canteen is heavenly. Although I think Bananas(our resident columnist) has his pyjamas in a bunch over it. Turns out his cousins were slaughtered to make the dish (sorry mr.BIP)
And if you're looking for a cold treat to keep you sane this summer, I strongly recommend the icecream sandwich at dairy don. Awesome stuff.
It gives you the jeebeeweebies(sorry, been watching too much of madagascar)
So, that's a wrap for this week then. Until next week, keep a stiff upper lip, and watch the budget!
